Tea Party: Make a Wish

Emily was invited to a Make a Wish Tea Party with the Jr Miss Contestants. Since she was the only girl from our family to go they told her she could bring a friend along, so her and Ainsley got all dressed up as princesses and went to the Tea Party.

Emily took her new friends to the wishing room to show them what it's like to make a wish in the wishing room. It's a very magically experience!!

A great time was had by all!!

Knights/Robots?

In January we got to spend some time with Logan, my sister's little boy. We haven't seen him since they moved out of state to finish up school. The kids were so excited to play with Logan! Alex was excited he got to play with Logan all day! They played so nicely without even one fight or disagreement, which was a very nice change. Logan is totally into Robots so we dug out some of our fun costumes. Alex's favorite was the knight! Hummmm, I wonder why? Could it be the sword? I love their hats! They ALMOST fit!
Now, let's trade! We must take turns and share!

I was so surprised Logan loved the hats. I feel claustrophobic just looking at him. What a good sport.

Thanks for coming for a visit Logan! We look forward to another play day!!

Happy "late" Birthday Grandma Cornie

In December we went to Grandma Cornie's "late" 90th birthday party. Her birthday is actually the day after Michael's birthday, but since Michael got baptized on his birthday Nana was kind enough to push Grandma Cornie's birthday back a week. Don't worry Grandma didn't even know. We had a great time with so many family gathered together. Mimi and Uncle Ed came from Texas and they brought their granddaughter Gilly. Emily was so excited. Her and Gilly have become best friends. Mimi's two sons Jason and Eddie also came. It was my first time meeting Jason and Eddie. Uncle Fred and Aunt Lucy and Brent came from California. It was so much fun. And of course all the locals were there. Kristy, Destry, Kaitlyn, Karly, Shell, Scott, TJ, Kimmy, Megan, Nette, Clay, Sami, Jason ..... As you can tell we had a full house = fun house.

The kids were so surprised when in the evening Santa came for a visit. The kids were so excited and wanted to run out and see his reindeer. Gilly was so cute, she was so adamant that she see exactly how he got here. The kids were all jumping up and down with excitement!!

All the kids got to sit on Santa's lap and have a little chat about how incredibly good they had been that year and what they wanted Santa to bring them. Megan sitting on Santa's lap.

Shockingly Alex wanted a WII. And of course he had been perfect that year!

Emily wanted a puppy, or a gerbil?!? Yeah right, like that's going to happen!

Michael wasn't sure what to tell Santa. He didn't know if he should tell Santa he had been good or bad.

All the kids got Christmas blankets from Santa. It will keep the Christmas spirit in our home all year round.

Michael's Baptism

I know I am falling behind, again, in keeping a record of the chaos that goes on in our house. So in my attempt to remember those wonderful, crazy, excited times, here is Michael's baptism day. Yes, it was on December 5 and today is January but we won't focus on that. Michael was so excited to be baptized and on his birthday!! How awesome is that!! We were so happy to have so many of our family and friends there to support us and celebrate with us. Nana, Papa, and Aunt Shell's family made the long trek from Parowan. We had are good friends, neighbors, and family join in the celebration. Grandma gave an awesome talk on baptism and Nana spoke on the Holy Ghost. I was so glad I didn't have to speak. It was GREAT!! We felt the spirit so strong and Michael said he felt cold on the outside but like fire on the inside!

After the baptism program we went back to our house for "brunch" which turned into more food than all of us could eat! Yumm, thanks to everybody for helping it was wonderful! Michael got to have birthday "brownies" since he won't eat cake. Crazy, I know!

I put magic relight candles on his brownies, but they didn't work too well! Darn!!

He had a great birthday and everyone was very generous! He was especially excited to get his own quad, scriptures, and scripture stickers.

These two rebels look like saints all dressed up in their white shirts and ties. But don't be deceived. Randy and grandpa! We were so glad our adopted grandparents, Randy and Jeanine could come.

Our very good friend Megan, Nana, and Aunt Shell, Papa was busy putting in alternate heat in the basement. He always worries about us and takes care of us! He's a great guy!!

Halloween!!

Happy Halloween

Yes, I'm finally blogging about Halloween. Granted it was a couple of weeks ago, but hey but late than never is always my philosophy.

Michael was a rock star. Alex was Obi-wan. Emily was little red riding hood.

We picked pumpkins from a great pumpkin patch, backyard pumpkin patch.

Boy oh boy!! Those pumpkins would not give up their vine. After dragging it across the yard it they finally let go.

Maybe not the biggest and roundest but hey I wasn't tricked into paying for those fraud patches were they just toss them out of trucks. This was the real deal, vines and all.

We went to the school parade. The kids were very excited!!

After school we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house to carve pumpkins, play games, and make a craft. Zach, Tonya, and Amanda must have got this beauty at the store. See how round and perfect it is.

Michael loved the pumpkin guts the best! Ahhh, Smells good! NOT!

We even got Mike involved! It was a hard task but proof is in the picture!

After carving his pumpkin, Michael wrote a whole story on his pumpkin about who this pumpkin was and where he came from.

It took Alex forever, but he stuck with it until the end. We never take food from this guy!!

Finally!!! This is much easier than chasing it around the string.

Emily and Michael ate sugar free life savers off the string. That took all of 5 seconds! Done!!

And what party would be complete without bobbing for apple quarters. Michael took forever. He was not about to get his face wet. However the higher your hinney the better chance you have.

Halloween night we are all doped up on candy! One last picture face paint and all!

Alex loved going from house to house and getting candy. "That was so nice of all those people to just give us candy!" He was not happy to have to go home and call it quit.

Little red made it the whole way this year! And they even gave out pixie sticks! Which by the way are not made from sugar!
